Miami Springs Historic Homes

"In the heart of it all" exactly where it should be and where it will stay. Miami Springs, originally founded as "Country Club Estates" by Glenn H. Curtiss, the father of aviation, is one of the most well preserved historic neighborhoods in Florida today. When Glenn H. Curtiss purchased the 17,000 acres of land alongside James Bright, it was nothing but swamp and grasslands. Today, that land is known as 3 neighborhoods: Virginia Gardens, Hialeah, and Opa-Locka. Miami Springs was intended to be themed after a regional style of architecture called Pueplo Revival. Here are few telltale signs of a Pueblo Revival home: a flat roof, walls made of stucco, and rounded corners.
